How to Present your Research Activities to Business Executives, to Public Officials, to Politicians and to other Scientists.

Overview of the Course

The aim of this one day course is to help researchers and research managers to articulate and present the ‘relevance’ of their research work to different audiences. Research groups rely on public and private funding to finance their research work. The different individuals involved in the financing of R&D are the public officials who administer the funding programmes, the technical experts who evaluate the ‘scientific excellence’ of the research, the business executives who require new technologies and the politicians who prepare economic and social policy. During the course each participant will make five short presentations describing their own R&D activities. At the end of the course each participant will have a set of slides which can be used in future presentations and proposals.
